What types of videos does Merritt Media produce?

How can my organization incorporate video as part of our marketing strategy?
We start off with a discovery session and help you identify areas where video can be best utilized and makes the most sense. We work directly with our customers to research and strategize to deliver a video that best meets our client’s needs. The results product may be a video that resides on a webpage, a Facebook page, as the centerpiece of a capital campaign, or as a primetime commercial. The options are endless!
How long does a typical video project take?
Every project’s timeline is different because each project is customized, however the editing process generally takes 3-4 weeks once production is complete. The length of the entire process completely depends on the project requirements and size. Having said that, we also take into consideration your deadlines and we work to ensure the project we are delivering can fit within expectations.
How much should our organization budget for a video project?
There are a number of factors that drive the cost of a video project… production days, the type of equipment needed to film your project, length of video, graphic design elements, etc. You will receive a customized proposal for each project.
Is your team able to travel?
Absolutely! While we call the Greater Houston area our home, we love to travel. In fact, ask us to share our story about the time we flew to Reykjavik, Iceland to film a project!
What is the process for determining the direction of the project?
Before we ever schedule a film day, we work directly with you to establish the purpose of the project, identify keywords that help to ground and provide focus to the project, and then we develop storyboards. Each of these pieces will then allow us to drive our shotlist(s) and schedule.
Can multiple videos be produced?
You bet! One of the best practices for incorporating video into your marketing strategy include utilizing multiple videos each with a different purpose. Creating a video strategy up front helps to maximize production days, which ultimately results in cost savings for you, our client.
How do you handle edits that may be needed in the future?
The more we film with your organization, the larger stock library we have available to allow us the ability to repurpose content for additional marketing strategy needs. As a larger stock library is developed, there is a subsequent reduction in the number of additional production days for future projects, which then translates to a cost savings for you and your organization.
Can we use footage that we have already recorded?
We certainly welcome any visual content that can help further bring your story to life. There may be significant quality differences depending on how the images were captured, but we are happy to review any footage that is already in place and provide you with our recommendations if there are any concerns. In the end, we want you to be exceptionally happy with your final product.
How does the payment process work for video productions?
We operate by the industry standard… 50% of the project cost is due up front which will help fund the project’s direct expenses. The remaining balance is due upon completion of the project once the deliverables have been approved and the final cuts have been made.
